Dwight, aka DJ D-LYTE, was destined to have music as a part of his life because he grew up around his favorite uncles and cousins who were well-known all over the island of JAMAICA as some of the most popular top-rated DJ’s, event promoters and studio engineers. Naturally, he listened to music incessantly, and learned to use all types of music production equipment from the professionals in his vicinity.

At the tender age of 10 years old, DJ D-LYTE took control of the “one’s and two’s” (Turntables) for the first time, and instantly fell in love with spinning records, mixing songs and the art of being a Disc Jockey (DJ)! Music was the catalyst that brought DJ D-LYTE into this world which makes it the very essence of his being. Prior to Hawaii, DJ D-LYTE performed DJ services in Toronto (Canada), New York and Florida. Because he has played music domestically and internationally, he is experienced in all genres of music…Salsa, Ska, Calypso, Merengue, Cumbia, Hawaiian, Hip-hop, House, R&B, Reggae, Motown, Country, Rock, Top-40, Mainstream, Jazz, Jitterbug, Funk, Pop, Disco, Blues, and Techno. DJ D-LYTE has a special connection and love for Reggae and Dancehall music stemming from his Jamaican roots and heritage.
